Anyone offended can challenge the other party to holmgang regardless of their differences in social status. This could be a matter of honour, ownership or property, demand of restitution or debt, legal disagreement or intention to help a wife or relative or avenge a friend – https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Holmgang
The list shall be demarcated (and not very large). Two fighters shall enter. Offences may be uttered. A challenge will be fought.
And the rules shall be
- All fights are to the first good blow
- The scoring shall be
- 2 Points for a blow to the body
- 1 Point for an arm or leg
- 1 Point if your opponent steps out of the list – however that may be
- 0 Points for a head kill
- Each combatant has 3 shields. These shields can be broken. When all 3 shields are broken, the combatant has no shield.
The format shall be round robin, 1 bout per opponent. We shall repeat as necessary.
